The inaugural Lucky Duck Dash is taking place on Saturday, June 30th in Mishawaka’s Central Park. It is being planning and coordinated in conjunction with the City of Mishawaka Independence Fest. Activities start at noon and continue throughout the entire day until ending with a fireworks display in the evening. On-site Lucky Duck Dash entries will be sold from noon until approximately 3 pm at Central Park. The official “Duck Launch” will take place at approximately 4 pm. See below for more information.
Come join in the fun, support our causes, and watch with excitement as thousands of rubber ducks flow down the St. Joseph River! Every duck adoption is a chance to win fantastic prizes, including our Grand Prize – $1,000. Everyone is a winner, though, because each adoption represents a donation toward handicap accessible and inclusive playground equipment in our local parks, as well as supporting the capital improvements campaign at Camp Millhouse!
As shown in the map below, the rubber ducks will be launched from the walking bridge between Central Park and the Mishawaka Police Department. The ducks will travel down the St. Joseph River past the “suspended bridge” between Beutter and Battell Parks where they will cross the finish line.
Once the ducks cross under the “suspended bridge” they will be funneled into single file to cross the finish line and determine the order of ducks as winners. The person who adopted the first duck to cross the finish line will be the Grand Prize Winner!
Additional prizes will be awarded to subsequent adoptees of ducks that cross the finish line, with the number of prizes dependent on the support of sponsors and local businesses. Read the Official Rules for more information.
Adopt a duck, a family of ducks, a raft of ducks, a flock of ducks, or become a sponsor today! Your be a part of the fun within this exciting new event in our community, while supporting charitable causes.
